The Authors

.... In the layout of this concept blog, above and to your left, you may have noticed some potential authors who have been ‘drafted’ as examples. Clicking on each picture brings the reader to their 'profile' for a further introduction. For now, most of those profiles are ‘mock-ups’ until we see who actually wants to participate, but they demonstrate an important facet of this blogging concept. Encounter will be a group blog with at least five authors contributing.

.... The participating authors must be chosen carefully. They must share the same heart and mind for revealing Jesus in the things they teach, and they should believe in each other’s ministries -- because Encounter will be the place where their ministries meet. Eventually, we could add a special section in which their ministry materials would be available for purchasing online. We could also provide links to their individual websites and plenty of encouragment to go and check them out. Two things would be accomplished through this overall approach:

.... First, everyone’s workload in writing articles would be cut by 80% since this duty would be shared with four other authors. Occasional guest writers could contribute articles as well, and additional considerations would reduce everyone’s work load even further (as we will explain in a moment).

.... Second, this convergence of ministries would create a synergy. For example, let’s say that Connie and Christy each have a hundred women who follow their ministries closely, and both authors join this blogging forum. Connie has now brought a hundred persons who will be exposed to Christy’s message, perhaps for the first time. Those who enjoy Connie’s message will probably enjoy Christy’s as well; and the same would be true in return for Connie, with the hundred women whom Christy brought along. Each author's reach would expand to a broader audience as a result, making each ministry, and the overall revelation of Jesus, that much more effective as a result; and in a practical sense this would also translate into additional sales of ministry materials.

.... Now picture this same effect multiplied between five authors and the synergy should become apparent at once. As long as the focus remains on Jesus we estimate that, within a few months, this blog could receive several hundred hits daily and grow even more over time.

.... But let us bear in mind that the true synergy would be formed among the readers since they would be allowed to participate in the ‘comments’ section of each article. Through their participation the true fruit of this ministry would be born, and this would be the real mark of the ministry’s success.

.... Finally, all five authors would agree to promote this website in the course of their individual ministries in order to promote this synergy.
