The Banner

.... The ‘Banner’ of a blog is the artwork across the top, which portrays the basic theme the ministry intends to offer. The colors of the banner usually determine the rest of the blog’s color scheme, as well.
.
....
The art we have chosen for this concept blog is the work of Henryk Siemeradzki, a Polish artist from the nineteenth century. This particular painting was created in 1886 so it is public domain, and it is now on display at the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Siemeradzki's work is not well known in the west, not even through the internet, but you can see the full and original painting by clicking on the link below:
.
.... (if you get an annoying ad when you click to this screen, simply hit the 'refresh' button on your browser and it will go away).
.... If you'll role your mouse pointer over the banner, at the top, you’ll see a brief description of the ministry appear. This wording can be changed to read anything we like, but its basic function is to explain the blog’s purpose concisely.
.
.... The blog you are viewing now offers a 'coffee' color scheme, which is considered warm, homey and inviting. But different people have different tastes and it may not appeal to everyone. As an alternative, the Semiradsky theme with a purple background can be seen by clicking here.
.
.... Also Nancy, our lovely blogmaster, will begin working on one or two additional banners soon, which will have more modern themes. Think of these as alternate book cover proposals. The original authors will consider the proposals and agree on the one that suits them best before the blog is officially launched.
